Linda James
Hi there! I'm Carol Flinspach Yinger and we are pleased to have with us today from the Class of '65 Linda (James) Strausberg. Linda, please tell us where you're living now and your current occupation.
We are living at 165 South Orchard Street in Brookville, Ohio. For the past 8-1/2 years, I have been Activity Director at Villas of Brookville, a retirement center.
Tell us about your family, Linda.
I'm married to Thomas Strausberg and have a son (Lee) and daughter (Kaye), who are both RN's.
Please tell us about what you have been doing for the past 37 years.
I have had some college. Prior to working at Villas of Brookville, I was the activity person in charge of special events (for 11 years) at McDonald's. My favorite hobby is growing roses. My husband and I have traveled to Florida and California, and I've traveled with my son to London. I also have taken some special short trips with my daughter.
Linda, are your parents and siblings still in the area?
Both of my parents are deceased. Two of my sisters and one brother live in Florida, another sister lives in Union (Ohio) and my twin brother lives in Texas.
What do you feel are your accomplishments or achievements, Linda?
I'm married to a great guy, and both of our kids have graduated from college. Becoming Activity Director has been an accomplishment. Also, each year, I'm involved in raising money for Alzheimer's (I came in second) and growing roses.
Linda, do you feel your job and life are where you thought they would be when you were in high school?
No, I think it is better that I thought it would be.
Do you have any regrets or would you do anything different.
No, nothing.
Linda, while you were at Colonel White, who were your special friends?
Sylvia Richey, Janice Gibson and Chris Brundage
What are your plans for the future, Linda?
To retire and travel.
In closing, do you have any
words of wisdom, comments or messages for our
classmates?
Always do your best and you will not be sorry. Help your fellow man, you may need help some day, too!
Thanks Linda for those words of encouragement and inspiration.....and again, thank you so much for spending a little of your day here with us here on the Web. Sounds like you have been very busy over the past 37 years, Best wishes Linda and we hope to see you at our 40th Reunion. That's it until next time. Till then this is.....
